Statement
According to an interesting observation I heard from someone, the field of archeology looks at an ancient tea bowl and asks how close it is to its original physical state, The field of antiques, meanwhile, looks at the same tea bowl and asks how it changed hands to arrive in its present location.

Naturally, archeology and antiques are different fields, so it is not surprising that they take different viewpoints. One might find it an unpleasant thought, but a scratch someone made on a tea bowl or a spot of grime at some point becomes an object of great affection; the tea bowl as an object and the tea bowl as a form neatly merge as one – a bit of magic performed by the long passage of time.

To intentionally dirty one’s brand new shoes or to gaze at fading letters with thoughts of lost time in this way, a line is drawn between oneself and the object. This line becomes a kind of standard or a new territory of conjunction.

Gazing through half-closed eyes, so that one’s focus blurs. From this i begins.
