Asae Soya received her PhD in Fine Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2006. She works in interdisciplinary fields, such as painting, installation and video installation.

At Hebel_121 the entire front space is featuring a video installation that captures the „energy of creation“ as a forest of colors, while paintings related to the video will be exhibited in the back space. The video is playing until late at night, so that passersby, in addition to visitors of the gallery, can see <sora> for long periods of time through the large windows of the main space. It’s like a breath of life, in an open manner to the city of Basel, getting dark very early during this time of year.
