1998 Hebel_121 has invited Takashi Suzuki from Tokyo to a solo exhibition opening our new art space in Basel. At that time Suzuki has been a classic iron sculptor, inspired by Alberto Giacometti, and Jean Tinguely. After ten years, and the development of his artistic work from sculpture to painted object to monochrome painting, he has presented his new work in another solo exhibition in 2007. Now, Hebel_121 is showing the latest development of his work in a solo exhibition, a wallpainting ‚in situ‘, serial works on paper in connection with Japanese book prints. His new work can be perceived as a visual east-western relationship.
